Requirements
How do I know I'm eligible to join?
What do you need?
-
KU Leuven sports card: No sports card means no entry at any of the KU Leuven sports centre buildings, including the swimming pool. More information about how the sports card words and how to acquire it can be found here.
-
Registration: If you want you can fill in the registration form on 'official' to be part of the team. This is not necessary, however, you can also just come to the training during the hours mentioned above (with sports card). If your swimming level is approved (see below), we are already looking forward to having you on the team!
-
Material: During our trainings, we provide the material needed. Be sure to bring your swim cap as this is mandatory.
-
Motivation: As a member of the KU Leuven swimming team, you are expected to participate in the BSK (see activities). Motivation is a very important factor to do your best here!

Required swimming level
Not sure if your level is good enough to join?
We give new members/doubters the opportunity to measure their skills every Tuesday! (more info)
The topics below are the minimal skills we expect you to possess:
-
Easily swim all four strokes.
-
Being able to do a flip-turn and a swimming start.
-
Succeed in the 400 meter freestyle speed test. The men's limit is 6'00, the women's limit is 6'30.
Do mind that if the coaches doubt about your skill level, they can ask to perform the speed test at any time. The coaches will always have the last word in the deliberation.
Location
Where am I expected to be for a swimming session?
Where?
Our headquarters is located at the KU Leuven sports centre, in between the topsporthal and the gymnasium.
The entrance of the building is at the end of a small pathway underneath the Univ-Fit and is highlighted on the map below with a red arrow. More information about the swimming pool can be found here, but mind that the reservation tool in this link is not applicable for our training sessions.
Our swimming pool is currently undergoing renovation. Training sessions are taking place in the swimming pool of the "Heilig Hartinstituut".
